Girls Weekend and a Growing Boy!

Overalls and toes.

Finding time to blog is becoming a sport, but I always miss it so much when I let it go too long without posting about all of our shenanigans! We have had a mixture of quiet and chaos since the holidays...my Mom came up the weekend after New Years while James was working and got some Mason time in!

Then after she left, we had a (insert sarcasm) fun week because Mason got sick! He was running a fever and had a terrible cough. The fever was pretty high so we made a trip to the doctor and found out he had a small upper respiratory infection. BUT when we got home that afternoon he woke up screaming from his nap and I realized what 90% of the problem was. Breakthrough on the second tooth! My tiny infant is gone and I have a big 5 month old with teeth! I was very happy to oblige him when he wanted to snuggle and wasn't feeling good :)

I really can't believe I have a 5 month old. He is doing all kinds of new things and amazing us everyday. He is a total rolly polly, he likes to roll around to get to things, he is sitting up on his own for short periods of time, and is SO chatty. My favorite sound in the world is his sweet giggle.

This past weekend he got a boys weeknd with Dad because I was in Wilmington with Tricia and Tara for Green Girls' Weekend! Tara had never been to Wilmington so we decided that was the perfect place for us to get away...and we picked the PERFECT weekend. The weather was gorgeous. Saturday it was 75 degrees and sunny so we spent all day sitting on the pier at Dockside drinking Bloody Mary's and catching up. We had great food, we danced, and certainly did a lot of  laughing! It was a great weekend and I am already excited about our next trip!

And last night we had a big event at our house. Mason had cereal for the first time! Such a big boy!! Below are some pictures of his first non-bottle meal, he wasn't quite sure what to think at first but he didn't spit it out as much as I thought he would. Since he has teeth and was reaching for our food so we decided it was a good time to go ahead and venture into the world of solids. Below are some pictures of Mason and his adventure with the spoon!

This weekend we are heading to Raleigh for Mason's Dedication. We are SO exciting because it is being led by none other than his Aunt Annie. We are looking forward to seeing everyone and all the kisses Mason will get.

If you are in the path of this Winter storm, please stay warm and safe! Hopefully Hampton Roads is on the rainy side instead of snowy, but we'll let you know if we get any white fluffy stuff :)

Lots of love,
The Greens
