2 months old!

Today, Mason Eldridge had his 2 month well baby check up. I don't know where the last two months have gone, I can't believe how big he is! It was chilly this morning and very rainy so I put his anchor beanie on him and he looked so cute of course I had to snap a picture! And if you can tell in this picture, we are definitely having a shift in his eye color!!! They are looking more green everyday, but I am not so secretly hoping that they turn to brown so he has something of mine other than his nose. Everything else is James! It is a good thing I think James Howard is pretty cute too...

His appointment went very well and he got an excellent report from the pediatrician. He weighs 12 lbs. 7 oz. and is 24 inches long. His weight was in the 80th percentile and his length was in the 75th percentile so he is a little larger than the average eight week old :) I was surprised he had grown 3 inches in 6 weeks, and would explain why I had to go buy 6 month pajamas for him last week! He was too long for his 3 months! He is a little ahead of the game on the strength side, he is pushing up on his arms when he is on his tummy (he looks like he is about to do a push up) so the doctor just said to be careful...rolling over could happen early for him!  He is very chatty and smiles ALL the time. He did have to get his shots today which didn't make either of us very happy, but he was a champ and only cried while he was getting the actual shots. Once they were over I picked him up and he went right back to sleep. It wasn't too traumatizing for either of us, thank goodness! I have been so happy with his doctor's office on base, they take the best care of him and love seeing Mason!

We have lots of exciting plans coming up, Granny is coming to visit him this weekend which always makes him a happy boy. It makes Julie happy because are going to be thrifting for a cool dresser to re-do for our master bedroom...hopefully I have some pictures of us doing that after our weekend with Granny! And since we can't be with her on her birthday October 19, we are going to spoil her this weekend :) Next weekend we are traveling to Washington D.C. with Granddaddy, Gigi, Uncle Warren, Aunt Tara, and Jackson! Uncle Warren is running the Army 10 Miler (10 miles!) and we are making a weekend out of it. We can't wait for Jackson and Mason to get some cousin time in, and I'm excited for James to experience Washington D.C. with his Dad. I have been before but James never has, and his Dad is the perfect person to see our nation's capitol with. While James is excited about the WWII Memorial, The White House, The Capitol Building and lots of history related things...Julie is excited about eating her way through another city so of course I have been googling all the best places to eat our favorite things in D.C.! So stay tuned, we have some fun blog posts coming your way!!

Tummy time, holding my head up and looking around!

Happy Tuesday, if it is anything like Virginia in NC, stay warm and dry!!
